Applications of Kraft paperboard

  • In packaging applications, Kraft paperboard is selected based on strength and structural requirements, offering high durability, good tear resistance, and stable converting performance.

  • For lower GSM grades, it is used for paper bags, wrapping paper, protective packaging, and interleaving paper in retail, e-commerce, logistics, and food packaging.

  • For heavier grades, Kraft paperboard is used in gift boxes, display packaging, garment hangers, structural packaging requiring higher stiffness and strength, and also suitable for notebook covers.

  • It is also suitable for coil and reel applications in industrial packaging.

FAQ

1. What is the typical GSM range of kraft paper?

Kraft paper is available in a wide GSM range depending on application needs, from low GSM for packaging and wrapping to higher GSM for structural and heavy-duty packaging applications.

2. What is the difference between kraft paper and paperboard?

Kraft paper is generally lower GSM and flexible, while kraft paperboard is thicker, stronger, and used for structural packaging applications requiring higher stiffness.

3. Do you also supply kraft paper besides kraft paperboard?

Yes, we also supply kraft paper in addition to kraft paperboard to meet different packaging and converting requirements.

4. Is paperboard considered cardboard?

Paperboard is a type of thick paper-based material, and in some cases it is broadly referred to as cardboard, although technically they are not exactly the same.

5. What is kraft board sustainable?

Kraft paperboard is considered a sustainable packaging material as it is made from virgin wood pulp or high-strength fibers and can be recycled and reused in packaging applications.
